EXTRACTS FROM THE REPORT
Discussion
The geophysical survey has added much to our understanding of
the site. The geophysical data from area 1 supports the earthwork
evidence for there having been some form of stone founded building
aligned roughly north/east - south/west. This appears to be
the only substantial structure within the moated area. That
is to say that other structures will almost certainly exist
but the may well be of timber construction and would not be
detected using resistivity as a survey method. The area immediately
to the east of feature B in Figure 4 may represent the area
reportedly excavated in the second half of the 20th century. |
