The Garth (and Oak View), West Street (RCHM 29, SMR 16384)
Discussion
Another of the key building chronology blocks created during
the project. Even though the absence of surviving sapwood
in the building prevents a precise date from being identified
for its construction it is, whilst still fifteenth century
in date, evidently slightly later than most of the other buildings
analysed. It is clear the cruck hall in Oak View is earlier.
