Gatehouse, East Street (RCHM 10, SMR 16362)
Discussion
Another Pembridge building with markedly different trees used
for the cruck blades compared to the straighter grained purlins
and struts. The fairly similar construction dates for Gatehouse,
Brick House, Swan House and possibly Wheelwrights appears
to indicate there was a major revision of the housing stock
in the village over the period AD1444-55.
